Full-time, Southeast NE Jobs Expires March 31, 2023

This is a call for those who are ready to help others. For those who are ready to commit to doing what’s right. For those who are ready to take on the most rewarding challenge of their life in a city consistently ranked as one of the best places in the country to live, work, play, and raise a family.

The Lincoln Police Department is always accepting applications for both entry-level and certified police officers. We know that diversity makes us better, so we’re committed to building a department that reflects the community we serve, and we encourage people from all walks of life to apply. We can and will teach you skills, so our biggest considerations in the hiring process are character and talent, and we’ve found the things that make a great Lincoln Police Officer are: integrity, being a team player, drive, humility, effective intelligence, emotional strength, adaptability, resiliency, and curiosity.

As a Lincoln Police Officer, you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of experiences and have countless opportunities for professional growth. Unlike most departments our size, we subscribe to a generalist policing philosophy. This means we give our officers the training and responsibility to fully investigate the cases they’re dispatched to rather than handing most of them off to an investigative unit. Policing this way adds an extra challenge to the job, but it also builds well-rounded officers and allows you to hone your skills on patrol so you’re ready to hit the ground running when opportunities for advancement come along.

Lincoln Police Officers work in cooperation with the community to prevent crime and proactively address problems before bad things happen. And they enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, excellent pay, and a defined benefit pension in return. Currently certified officers may be eligible for additional incentives.

If you’re ready to turn your passion and commitment into action, it’s time to answer the call, accept the challenge, and find your place at the Lincoln Police Department.

Minimum qualifications established by the State of Nebraska include: age 21 or older by December 1, 2022; a U.S. Citizen; high school graduate or GED; no felony convictions; valid driver’s license.
