Volunteer/Intern Opportunity: Assistant Executive Director at The Young Talons
About the Opportunity:
The Young Talons invites passionate individuals to join our team as an Intern Assistant Executive Director. The internship/volunteer roll will be on a trial basis for 30 noncontiguous hours over the course of 60 business banking days. We want to make sure there is a mutual synergy and cohesive working relationship with our foundation. Role Overview:
As an Intern Assistant Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of The Young Talons. Under the guidance of the Executive Director and in alignment with our Board of Directors’ policies, you will engage in a wide range of activities from administration and staff coordination to financial oversight and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising daily operations, ensuring alignment with our mission’s goals and standards.
- Contribute to staff management and training initiatives, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment.
- Support financial management tasks, including bookkeeping responsibilities such as accounts receivable and payable, and payroll functions.
- Engage in strategic planning efforts to enhance our service delivery and community impact.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of best practices in non-profit management.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to strengthen our mission’s reach.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in human services, management, business, or a related field.
- Interest or experience in bookkeeping, financial management, and administrative tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software for publishing, presentations, accounting (e.g., QuickBooks), and data management.
- A commitment to professionalism, reliability, and a passion for serving the community.
